We celebrate this occasion which is both solemn and joyful. It is solemn because it establishes that a man and a woman should become a union of two persons. This is also a joyful time for now a love will have taken a great step toward fulfillment.

This adventure begins with the honesty existing between ___________ and ______________ and among you who witness this event. Be it known to you all that the responsibility for the integrity with which __________and ____________ make this covenant finally rests upon their own hearts and on their friends and relatives in this community.

I charge you both, that if you know any reason why you may not be joined in marriage, you so say now.

We are gathered here to join this man and this woman in marriage.
